Conservation of Resources

Introduction:

As we have three different types of resources in our environment which are named as natural, human-made, and human resources. It is very important to conserve these resources so that our future generation will also get a chance to use them. So, we need to learn different ways in which we can use these resources effectively and efficiently. For that purpose firstly we need to understand what the term conservation means.

Meaning of Resource Conservation:

Resource conservation means when we use resources very carefully so that they get time to renewed and replenish. And also we need to use resources in such a great way so that we can satisfy our needs and our future generation will also be able to use them. This process is called sustainable development.

Q:  Imagine Mona had a nightmare. She dreamt that all the water on the earth had dried up and all the trees cut down. There was no shade and nothing to eat or drink. People were suffering and roaming around desperately looking for food and shade. She told her mother about the dream. “Amma can this really happen?” she asked.

Different ways of conserving resources:

There are different  ways in which we can conserve these resources:

1. Reducing consumption: 

we can reduce the consumption of different things. for example, we can switch off the lights when they are not in use, turn off the taps when not in use.

2. Recycling Things :

There are many things that we can recycle and we can save resources by recycling them. for example, Plastic bottles can be recycled, wood can be recycled by making paper, cardboard can also be recycled.

3. Reusing things:

  By using the same thing again and again we can reuse them and conserve resources to some extent. for example, we can use any old cloth to make the bag out of it, we can donate different things to needy people instead of throwing them in the garbage.

Conclusion:

As we have different types of resources which are present in our environment. we need to use these resources in such a way that our future generation can also use them.
